Join Alyssa, Derek and Lindsay as they attempt to define the terms “Patriarchy” and “Matriarchy” and give context to how those words affect out society.
Thanks for this! I really enjoyed listening to it, especially to the part about the matriarchy. As a MoFem myself, I hear the word thrown out a lot but I never really see the context it carries for Mormon Feminsim.
Great discussion! I particularly liked the point Alyssa (or was it Lindsay?–sorry I lost track of who was saying what) made at the end about how patriarchy is a system we all participate in, and that by questioning it, we’re not trying to pit women against men. Rather it’s all of us trying to change a system that hurts all (or at least most) of us, but that is really easy to thoughtlessly perpetuate.
